Steve CookStephen Cook is an accomplished scientist in the field of orthopaedic bioengineering.  In his twenty year tenure as a professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, Dr. Cook’s accomplishments include over 200 articles published in peer reviewed scientific journals and the development of numerous orthopaedic and medical devices. Dr. Cook is a knowledgeable consultant and internationally renowned speaker in his multiple fields of expertise. 

In addition to his responsibilities as the Lee C. Schlesinger Professor and Director of Orthopaedic Research, Dr. Cook has become an accomplished race car driver after competing in numerous amateur events, beginning with racing go-carts and progressing to open wheel formula style cars.   In his first year of racing an open wheel Formula Mazda, Dr. Cook placed second in the Southwestern Formula Mazda Series Championship in 1998, and continued his success in the 1999 and 2000 National Formula Mazda Series.  In 2001, he was crowned the Formula Mazda Pro Series Masters Champion.  After finishing 5th in the 2002 Star Mazda North American Pro Championship presented by Goodyear, Dr. Cook finished 3rd in 2003 and again 5th in 2004.

Stephen Cook brings to the race team a sophisticated set of skills including his dynamic scientific knowledge, compelling abilities as an accomplished public speaker, the personality to interact with race fans and clients, and a strong desire to compete.  Steve firmly believes that the excitement of a day at the races is something that all can enjoy and is the perfect compliment to promoting products and technologies in the medical and orthopaedic markets.
