Justice Chasing Victory
Sept.
17th 2005, Las Vegas, Nevada. Ryan Justice in his second start in the
ASA Speed Truck Challenge series brings the Rich’s
Motorsport’s Dodge home in the second position. Qualifying 3rd for the main event ahead of 25 other Speed Trucks, Justice
in his first start on an oval track was extremely pleased
with his performance. “The Rich’s Motorsport’s team gave me
a great truck for qualifying and I think it will even be
better for the race,” stated Justice. “I feel very confident
with my truck, my team and the result we’ll end up with
tonight, I’m just excited to go racing.”
“The
Bullring” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a 3/8th mile oval track, is home to one of the premier facilities in
the western United States. Races are held nearly every
weekend throughout the season at the Bullring. In 2005, the
Bullring will be host to two ASA Speed Truck Challenge
Series races along with many others including Super Late
Models, Late Models, Chargers, Legends Cars, Bandolero Cars,
Thunder Roadsters IMCA Modifieds and 7-Eleven Bullring
Bombers.
The 75 lap main event was
broken into several short stints as it was plagued with full
course cautions. The race eventually was ended 2 laps early
and that put an end to Ryan hopes of Victory. “Our Dodge
truck was great after 3 laps but on the re-starts it just
wasn’t there quick enough and with so many re-starts I just
couldn’t take advantage of its speed and endurance,” said
Ryan.
This finish together with
his 3rd place finish from 2 weeks ago at the St.
Johns GP will establish Ryan as a true contender for next
year’s ASA Speed Truck Challenge Championship if this is
where he decides to focus his 2006 racing efforts. “We are
currently looking at a couple of directions for Ryan in
2006,” implied Ronnie Swyers, Team manager for Northwest
Autosport Inc. “Ryan has shown great progress in a short
amount of time in the ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series and
we want to capitalize on this for the 2006 season. Ryan’s
interests are still in the open wheel formula cars where he
currently competes full time and next year with the Toyota
Atlantic series emerging with a new car that may be the next
logical step for him.”
Ryan will be testing this coming Friday September 23rd at Irwindale Speedway in preparation for race there on
October 1st. The young Justice will campaign in
the Star Mazda Championship Series in Atlanta GA. on Friday
September 30th and fly into California for the
Saturday night race at the ½ mile Irwindale Speedway. Based in Milwaukie, Oregon, Northwest Autosport is one of the top teams participating in the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, which will feature twelve races across the United States and Canada supporting the American Le Mans Series, ChampCar and the GrandAm series.
